Where to Stay
Kenora offers a wide range of accommodations to meet everyone's needs and budget. From crown-land camping to a luxury suite, Kenora has the facilities to make your stay an enjoyable one.

Kenora is host to approximately 1 million visitors each year. Most visitors come between late May and early September. If you are traveling to Kenora during the high season, be sure to book early or beds can become scarce.
As Kenora is the largest city in the Northwestern Ontario district, it is also home to a great selection of hotels. Most major hotel chains are present in Kenora and several quaint independent operators compliment the selection. Prices in Kenora can range from $50 to $250 per night.

Bed and Breakfast enthusiasts will be pleased to know that Kenora boasts a variety of B & B options. From restored historic homes to beautiful lakefront properties, the comfort of a home away from home is available. Expect to pay $85 to $150 per room.

With thousands of miles of shoreline accessing hundreds of lakes, campgrounds are abundant in the Lake of the Woods district. Some campgrounds cater to family outings by restricting alcohol and implementing noise curfews while others cater to younger crowds in pursuit of happiness. Most sites offer RV services as well as play structures and safe swimming areas. Prices range from free to $30 per site.

One of the more unique experiences is to stay in one of the local lodges. Accessibility ranges from right in town to fly-in only and amenities range from all inclusive executive resorts to pans are in the sink, and the outhouse is

Many of the hotels and B & Bs in the area offer a reduced rate to travelers during the quieter months (Mid September - Mid May). Many fishermen and nature lovers will attest that fall is often the best time to get the most of a Lake of the Woods adventure. With the popularity of winter activities such as skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing growing in the region, more and more hotels are now booking package offers to visitors which include access to winter.
down the path cabins. Many of the lodges in the region will only take week long bookings so if you are looking for a more adventurous stay in the area, be sure to book well in advance and be prepared to pay between $700 and $2,000 for a cabin for the week.

If you are looking to test your sea legs, charters are also available in the area for houseboats and sailboats. Each require some lake knowledge prior to rental. Lake of the Woods is home to more than 15,000 islands and hundred of reefs so navigation can be tricky for first timers. That said, many of the 15,000+ islands offer unforgettable moorings and panoramas. Prices range from $200 to $500 per 24 hours of charter.

A group of like minded hoteliers in Kenora recently created the Kenora Hospitality Alliance (KHA) to help augment the selection of activities in the area year-round and ultimately make guests stays in Kenora more enjoyable. Kenora Guide applauds their efforts towards community improvement. The KHA's Members include:
